With the new DBZ set about to hit stores this Friday this is the last chance to talk about a deck that has made a splash at some regional events, but has yet to win one. I spent some time thinking about the color red this past week. I could not decide who to play with my limited card pool. Finally I broke down and went with Garlic Jr. Not an original pick, but he is effective at what he does in red. Also you do not even need many rare cards from red to rebuild this deck. So let’s take a look at the little man with Eternal Life.

So let’s first take a look at cards that need to be replaced. I made this deck with a limited pool for neutral cards. If I had more Sagacious Strikes I would put those into the deck instead of Blinding Energy Move. Blinding Energy Move is a risky card to run in a deck that can win through Dragon Ball victory. Information Gathering could help avoid a lose due to a blinding energy move. Overall this deck is not optimal, but it does win games. It’s biggest weakness as is would be Wall Breaker. There are no ways to remove it from your personality if you are hit with one in this deck. Your best bet at that point would be to try and DBV. Now that we have the casual nature of this deck out of the way lets talk about what it is good at. It is extremely good at mitigating damage. Every combat after the first I was able to reduce my opponents damage by -5 every combat. This leaves most opponents doing only 1-2 stages or cards on attacks. I also ran this deck with more blocks than usual. It is meant to be a passive build. You are looking to let your opponent enter combat on you and react defensively. This deck has no problem at all gaining anger, and defending itself. This deck is a very budget deck. It is only running about 3 rare cards and most are not even needed. All you really need are critical effect cards. Many times your criticals will control opponents anger levels and hold dragon balls so you can get immediate effects repeatedly.
