The Dark Quarter is a cooperative, app-driven adventure game set in a dark, fantastical vision of 1980's New Orleans. Players will take on the role of a Beaumont agent and work together to solve the worst crimes that New Orleans has to offer. It's a world full of magic, where hexing curses are sold on every street, where voodoo priestesses and creatures of the night are lurking around every corner, and where even the most mundane crimes have a tinge of the supernatural to them
New Orleans, 1981 - August. It was the hottest summer on record in New Orleans. Humidity coated the city like a mass of rancid honey. Jazz riffs leaked out of the French Quarter, valiantly trying to pierce the sweltering air. If ever the city owned up to its ancient nickname, the Wet Grave, it was in the summer of '81.
The murder was brutal and archaic. The detective in charge took one look, vomited into the bushes, and said out loud, to no one in particular, "This is gonna hang on our necks like a millstone if we don't put it to bed immediately."
A call was placed for outside help, a call no one really wanted to make, but the NOPD wasn't above begging, so the Beaumont Agency was asked to consult on what would become the first of the Congo Murders...
